General Assembly committees offer an engaging experience that closely emulates the structure of the United Nations, providing delegates with a platform to immerse themselves in international diplomacy. These committees are designed with a strong focus on sparking debates, making them especially inviting for novice delegates. The subject of discussion is chosen from among topics in the background guides by setting the order of agenda. Rather than acting through crisis notes, delegates actively participate in substantive discussions in order to find a comprehensive solution to a topic. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned delegate, GAs present an exciting opportunity to strengthen your debate, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
The san francisco Conference
The year is 1945. The world has just emerged from a second global conflict within five decades, which claimed millions of lives and reshaped the balance of power globally. Now 50 countries gather in San Francisco to draw up a charter establishing the framework for international cooperation for years to come. What does it take to secure global peace and security? How can the international community prevent atrocities of such a scale from occurring again?

UN trade and development (UNCTAD)
Every four years, since the Geneva Conference in 1964, the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has held a conference on the state of developing countries around the world. The conference aims to create a more equitable international trading system, promote sustainable development, and reduce poverty worldwide. Guided by the interests of their nations, delegates will need to work together to design innovative solutions through trade, investment, finance, and technology for the complex problems of the international markets, enhance their competitiveness, and achieve inclusive growth.

World intellectual property organization
Since its inception in 1967, the World Intellectual Property Organization has been tasked with enforcing international IP rules while fostering collaboration to protect and promote the fruits of human creativity. In 2025, in the midst of the new digital age where creators, inventors, and businesses are heavily reliant on the internet, it is more important than ever before that delegates come together to craft solutions to issues that pose a threat to intellectual property. Within committee, delegates will be challenged to create unique and in depth solutions while striking a balance by compromising with other ideas and finding common ground with other nations that share similar IP policies.

Hybrids offer delegates an experience somewhere between the fast-paced crisis environment and the more debate-focused scene of a General Assembly. Delegates will act as characters or countries in a committee responsible for addressing general issues and resolving urgent events. The committee will start by setting the order of agenda, then delegates will need to address the topic at hand by writing directives or contributions to a resolution. Delegates will not have portfolio powers, but they will be able to send crisis notes to the back room. Based on their actions in committee and the notes they send, crisis events will periodically add an additional layer to the flow of the committee.
The association of Caribbean STates
The Association of Caribbean States (ACS), established in 1994, stands as a beacon of regional cooperation and solidarity, bringing together member states and associate members from across the Caribbean Basin. Members of the ACS are tasked with navigating regional trade & market disputes, coordinating economic policies and development planning, and instituting special projects for underdeveloped countries. Delegates must undertake the chief responsibility of ensuring the region can properly develop without the scourge of corruption. Be ready to think on your toes to solve any crises within the committee — day to day operations within the ACS are not always smooth sailing!

Independence of Singapore
The date is August 9th, 1965, a pivotal day in the history of Southeast Asia: Singapore has been thrown out of newly created federation of Malaysia. As the Vietnam war rages on, an era of great instability has spread across the region of Southeast Asia. The young state faces both external and domestic threats as high unemployment and a lack of natural resources threaten to spark civil unrest. Delegates must act swiftly to secure the nation, draft a constitution, and find international allies while avoiding unfavorable reintegration into Malaysia and the ever-looming Indonesian military.

Crisis committees are the most unconventional element of Model UN, drawing off of a fast-paced structure with consecutive crises centered around a generalized conflict. Rather than representing a country, delegates typically assume the role of an individual. Their job in the front room is to assess various crisis events as they arise and collaborate with others to take collective committee action in the form of passing directives. In the backroom, delegates have the opportunity to create their own crisis arc by using crisis notes to secretly exert their will on the committee. Periodically, crisis staffers will enter the room to present updates based on the actions of delegates in the front and back rooms.
1960 Election JCC: Nixon vs kennedy
In what is set to be one of the closest elections in recent years, Democratic and Republican committee members, politicians, and campaign staff must strategize how to successfully elect their candidate to the presidency and reignite their party's leadership. This race is between incumbent vice president Richard Nixon and the up and coming senator from Massachusetts, John F. Kennedy. Dealing with the difference in religion and experience between Nixon and Kennedy while addressing political issues such as the spread of Communism, economic growth, and civil rights, staffers of each campaign must find a way to make a case for their administration to lead America into the 1960s. In doing so, delegates will develop and respond to campaign decisions, national events, policy proposals, and public perceptions of their candidate, all while their counterparts work to do the same leading up to Election Day.

thematic committee
The Thematic committee is a unique, specialized committee that integrates the traditional Model UN experience with innovative, hands-on debate and problem solving. Inspired by the conference theme, this committee challenges delegates to work quickly and diligently to create intuitive and comprehensive solutions based on other outcomes and crises debated in other EagleMUNC committees. The Thematic committee encourages delegates to observe patterns, utilize attention to detail, and solve issues globally and holistically. Delegates will be forced to think critically, connect the past to the present, and think beyond current truths. EagleMUNC is very enthusiastic to explore this year’s iteration of the Thematic committee: INVESTIGATIVE MYSTERY!
Assuming the roles of some of the most influential minds from all of history, you will be tasked with solving a murder mystery that spans across time and space. Many of the clues for the culprit will be located outside the committee room, and it will be your job to work as a collective to piece together everything you observe. Rules will be broken as this isn't your typical committee. Remember to stay vigilant and trust no one. Tick tock delegates, time is running out.

Ad-hoc
TOPIC WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE CONFERENCE!
The Ad-Hoc committee offers a fast-paced and exciting environment for more experienced students. Delegates will have their critical thinking skills tested as they are tasked with coming up with creative solutions to unique problems that fall outside the scope of a traditional Model UN committee. The topic of the Ad-Hoc will not be revealed until the start of the conference. Before the first committee session, students will receive a packet that briefs them on the situation and describes their role. Throughout the year, we will release teasers that may help you reveal some of the secrets of the Ad-Hoc. An unforgettable journey awaits for those who choose to apply!
