greek pantheon

The Greek Pantheon will rewrite history — from the perspective of the Greek Gods. Delegates will represent the Gods at different points of ancient and modern history and see how the world changes due to their actions. Will they choose to become involved and intertwined in the affairs of man? Or remain hands-off and see what chaos ensues?

In the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that destroyed the Fukushima nuclear power plant, Japan is at an inflection point. Delegates will find the ways to effectively re-think, re-understand, and finally rebuild Japan to meet the needs of the present and the past.

post- war Korean Government

In this committee, we pick up with the Korean government during a time of growth in early March of 1960. Amidst student protests and rising discontent with President Syngman Rhee’s administration, the committee has assembled to relieve this tension and prepare to launch the first Five Year Plan around which they will begin to develop Korean infrastructure and industry for the decades to come. These issues, along with the ever-present influence of North Korea, will force delegates to create a plan for how to move forward, promoting economic growth whilst maintaining social stability and a stable government.

In a world that is becoming increasingly dangerous and unstable, DISEC aims to regulate arms, control weapons of mass destruction, and contain challenges to the peace of the world. As members of this vital committee, delegates will look at issues such as the potential of Iranian nuclear weapons, how to deal with countries who are in violation of the nuclear weapons proliferation treaty and possess these weapons in secret, and other pressing issues of disarmament and security.

Organization of AFRICAN UNITY

. The OAU was an intergovernmental organization founded in 1963 to promote the unity, freedom, cooperation, and sovereignty of African states. Although it was disbanded in 2001, a special meeting has been called today that will attempt to solve some of the most significant issues that remain. These include continued attempts at imperial and colonial conquests, the effects of climate change, and the increased militarization of African states.
